Dr. Ricardo del Valle Zermeño

Background

Ricardo has B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Universitat de Barcelona. He started working in a research centre specialised in the design and optimisation of processes and materials. During this time, he completed his M. Sc. in Energy Engineering in Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya and later defended his PhD dissertation over Materials Science & Engineering in Universitat de Barcelona (2016). During this period he had the chance of conducting research in Spain and France and published more than 20 scientific articles.

Relevant Experience

After his PhD, he joined the R&D department of a metallurgical company specialised in steel and speciality alloys where he participated in the development of materials and technology. In 2018, he joined Bax and Company as innovation consultant in the field of advanced materials for the mobility sector. He is part of the team that coordinates the European Lightweight Cluster Alliance (ELCA) network, in which he conducts innovation management activities with research centres and cluster associations. He has experience in H2020/Horizon Europe projects within the lightweight field, mostly on exploitations and innovation management activities. He has participated as well in the project management of different types of Interreg programme projects.
