Meet CRF.
Centro Ricerche FIAT
CRF (Centro Ricerche FIAT) is the reference for the research and development activity of STELLANTIS. CRF represent a bridge between the basic research world and the world of the industrial manufacturing, realizing the selection and transfer of the technology innovation in develop and manufacturing area of STELLANTIS.
The CRF mission has three main objectives:
To develop powertrains, vehicle systems, materials, processes, and
methodologies together with innovation expertise to improve the
competitiveness of STELLANTIS products. To represent STELLANTIS in European and National collaborative research
program, joining pre-competitive projects and promoting networking actions. To support STELLANTIS in the protection and enhancement of intellectual
property.
The research and development activity of the CRF are focused on three area:
Environmental sustainability through projects for the efficiency improvement and environmental impact reduction on all product life cycle.
Society sustainability, for which it develops active security systems, security passive, preventive security and cooperative security of the transport systems and studying measures to ensure access to mobility for all people regardless of their specificity.
Economically sustainable competitiveness, with performance and vehicle function improvement programs, that are also geared towards reducing the time to market of the research results.
Within the SALIENT project, CRF plays the role of the end user of the solutions and methods to be developed. From this point of view, therefore, the CRF is responsible for WP1: Technical and Performance Requirements and Future Crash Scenarios, which defines the technical requirements, performance and targets of the vehicle systems and components within the project.
In addition, the CRF will support the other partners involved in the activities of component design, performance simulation, materials development, evaluation of production processes and recycling and recovery methods.
WP1 (Technical and Performance Requirements and Future Crash Scenarios) Leader
T3.5 (Joining, Bonding and Assembly Technologies) Leader
T8.3 (Quality and Risk Identification Management)
