Meet IPG Automotive.

IPG Automotive

Founded in 1984 as spin-off from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, IPG Automotive is a global organisation with over 180 companies using their software for simulation in vehicle dynamics, powertrain and ADAS and AV. The demonstrable benefits of simulation in the project, will help expand the UK footprint across more AV start-ups, certification authorities and established OEMs. The software adds extensive value across powertrain and Vehicle Dynamics domains, helping OEMs and Tier 1s to achieve tangible and credible robustness and efficiency improvements.

CarMaker has been developed over the last decade to cover ADAS and AV capabilities, with industry leading, validated sensor models. IPG’s model build, scenario creation and simulation execution capabilities will continue to grow in dominance within the industry. Benefiting from a diverse team of highly talented people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, it is assured that a diversity and inclusion mindset will consistently be applied to any further project recruitment.

Within the SALIENT project, IPG Automotive are leading the creation of a crash prediction and event trigger algorithm as well as the CAN network that communicates with the SALIENT safety system. IPG Automotive will also leverage their expertise in scenario definition and execution to create a suite of virtual tests in order to validate the full ADAS system. IPG Automotive are liaising with SALIENT partners Northumbria University, Stellantis and Virtual Vehicle to ensure the system requirements are met.
