SALIENT to Showcase Sustainable Lightweight Innovations at JEC World 2025

From 4 to 6 March 2025, SALIENT Consortium Partners will unite at the JEC World 2025 congerence and trade fair at Paris-Nord Villepinte (France). JEC World, the so-called “festival of composites”, brings together professionals from around the world each year to showcase the potential of composite materials across various sectors.

The SALIENT project is excited to take part in this prominent event and present the latest developments in the design of the Front-End-Structure (FES), which is more circular, lightweight, safe, and smart than any available components on the market today.

As a member of the European Lightweight Cluster Alliance (ELCA), SALIENT project representatives will take part in Agora Session 5 “Bio-Based Alternatives for Lightweighting” on 6 March 2025, from 15:00 to 15:55 CET. More specifically, Professor Ahmed Elmarakbi from the University of Northumbria and Thomas Hipke, Head of Division, Lightweight Design and Circular Economy at Fraunhofer IWU, along with other speakers, will discuss the challenges in this area of bio-based materials and highlight SALIENT's contributions to circularity and lightweighting in the automotive industry.  Additionally, they will explore the growing market for bio-based alternatives and innovations approaching commercialisation. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr Ricardo del Valle Zermeño, Senior Innovation Manager at Bax.

Throughout JEC World 2025, Fraunhofer IWU will have a dedicated booth (No. 5D97), where participants can access informative brochures about the project.

The SALIENT Consortium is looking forward to this exciting opportunity to connect with the global composites community, exchange ideas, and present the project's latest achievements in the pursuit of sustainable, lightweight solutions for the automotive industry.
